Welcome to

Córdoba

Córdoba has a unique infrastructure thanks to its capacity and versatility to host all types of events, such as the Córdoba Exhibition, Trade Fair and Convention Centre. It brings together all the necessary elements to successfully host any MICE event and establish itself as a meeting point and a national and international benchmark in the world of congresses

Location

The province of Córdoba is located in the geographical centre of Andalusia (latitude 37°50’44” and longitude 04°50’23”), in the south of the Iberian Peninsula and 400 kilometres from Madrid. The city is situated on the banks of the Guadalquivir River, a key element in its development. The river crosses the territory from east to west, dividing it into two almost symmetrical regions: Sierra Morena to the north, and the countryside and the Penibética area to the south. This location means that the capital of Córdoba, with a population of 325,916 inhabitants, stands out for its pleasant climate throughout the year

Transport and communications

Córdoba is connected by AVE (High-Speed Train) with the main Spanish cities: Seville, Málaga, Granada, Ciudad Real, Madrid, Zaragoza, Barcelona and Valencia. By road, Córdoba is the main hub of the Spanish road network, connecting Madrid with Andalusia via the A-4 motorway (Madrid–Cádiz), and via the National Road linking Badajoz with Granada, connecting the southeast with the southwest of the Iberian Peninsula. The connection with Málaga and the Costa del Sol is provided by the A-45 motorway. It is located just over one hour from the main international airports in Andalusia (Seville and Málaga)

Culture and heritage

Córdoba is the perfect destination thanks to its history, traditions and the immense value of its historical and cultural legacy, recognised through four UNESCO World Heritage declarations. The Mosque-Cathedral, the Historic Centre and the Jewish Quarter, the Festival of the Patios, the Caliphate City of Medina Azahara, and an extensive programme of leisure activities make this city a unique destination

Accommodation

Córdoba has a high-quality hotel infrastructure, with a large number of hotels located in the historic centre, as well as many others distributed throughout the city centre and the train station area. In recent years, new establishments have been added to the city’s hotel offering, creating a destination with modern, high-capacity accommodation options, including many charming hotels located in unique settings. With 152 open hotel establishments across all categories, offering 8,728 accommodation places, Córdoba also has several projects underway to increase the number of hotels and rooms. The city’s size makes it easy to travel from these accommodations to the CEFC, as well as to the city’s main monuments and attractions

Accessibility

Córdoba is implementing significant improvements in terms of urban and architectural accessibility and is becoming one of the most inclusive tourist destinations in Spain, both for people with reduced mobility and for people who are neurodivergent or have visual or hearing impairments. In the past year, architectural barriers have been removed, audio-described and tactile resources have been introduced in spaces such as the Julio Romero de Torres Museum, and Navilens codes translated into 34 languages have been installed at taxi ranks and urban bus stops
